As part of its commitment to providing high quality monitoring services to judges, lawyers and law students, the Louisiana Lawyer Assistance Program has created a presentation, titled “The Purpose of LAP Recovery Agreements.” Together, the 32 slides explain the role of LAP contract monitoring, spell out the steps of the monitoring process, address the expectations of participants and LAP monitors, and present some of the challenges participants and LAPs can expect to encounter. This presentation will likely be of interest to LAP professionals, as well as attorneys who are either current participants or are considering participating. A special thanks to the author of the presentation, J.E. Buddy Stockwell III, who has generously shared this information in hopes that it may contribute to assisting impaired legal professionals.
